OAK RECRUITMENT
St ANDREW'S SCHOOL, CAMBRIDGE

St.
Andrew’s was founded over 30 years ago as the first independent tutorial
college in Cambridge and offers high quality GCSE, Foundation and A-Level
courses. These courses prepare students from around the world for entry into
British universiyies. Our students regularly go on to study at prestigious
universities such as Oxford, LSE, Imperial College, UCL, Durham, Warwick,
Manchester and many others.
The small classes at St. Andrew’s (an average of 5 students per class on
A-level course in 2008) mean that students receive the individual attention
necessary to achieve to their full potential. The college offers quality
residential accommodation near to the teaching sites as well as homestay with
carefully selected families around Cambridge. Supervision and support are
provided by the house wardens and by our dedicated Accommodation and Welfare
officer.
St. Andrew’s has two teaching sites: one in the heart of Cambridge, close to the university colleges and the river, the other on Station Road, a short walk from our 4 residence buildings.
The college has 20 classrooms, two science laboratories, three computer studies rooms, two art rooms, and student study and common rooms.
St. Andrew’s emphasises personal attention for our students. We are a family school, in which everyone is well looked after.
Classes are taught in small groups, with a maximum of 12 students per class and an average of fewer than 8.
Each student is allocated a personal supervisor who monitors their progress, gives support where needed and keeps parents or guardians informed about matters concerning the student’s welfare and academic achievement.
